Behavior Recognition Software to Ohio Markets

November 1, 2004, Columbus, Ohio -- Stewart's Security Service announced that it has agreed to a partnership alliance with Cernium, Inc., to sell and support behavior recognition software developed by the St. Louis based company.  Behavior recognition software, also referred to as "intelligent video surveillance," identifies suspicious or unusual behavior through video analysis.

Cernium's Perceptrak software is addresses the challenges presented at facilities monitored by multiple closed circuit television (cctv) surveillance monitors and watched by security personnel.  Banks of surveillance monitors historically invite boredom and inattentiveness on the part of even the most highly trained security personnel.  Behavior recognition technology, in contrast, delivers proactive surveillance by providing an organization or institution with real-time actionable information that can reduce or prevent criminal incidents and can allow faster responses to general security and safety situations.
